Pursuing
our belief that most of the problems of the villages can be solved
if health education is successfully imparted, Though it is a long
term programme but we are happy to note the appreciable changes already
brought about in the villages through health education.
Special
attention is given to the villagers awareness on health through
'health rallys', where health professionals, social scientists,
distinguished physicians and other notable persons join to bring
benefits of health habits and healthy living.

An important
aspect of the preventive services is the Home Visit Programme by village-level
workers or Community Health Guides. Trained Community Health Guides (CHGs) are entrusted to make at least 50 home visits to the families in their own villages, once a month, as per a framework. Their primary goal is to make the visited families health conscious through training and personal guidance. They enquire and update their knowledge about these families, provide necessary councelling and keep watch wether the instructions are carried out or not. Non-compliance owing to various reasons are reported to the local supervisors and from there to the Headquarters. Regular refresher and orientation courses are held at all local centres. In this way, the Sangha develops an understanding of the real difficulties faced by villagers and their needs.
For imparting training to CHGs, a Special Cell has been formed by the Sangha with several experts and professionals. The Cell moves out to different village centres for imparting of training. The work of training is carried on systematically throughout the year.

Health exhibition in villages is the best way of mass awareness. Every
year health exhibitions or health fairs are organized for this purpose.
The villagers are immensely benifited with various health related
posters, charts and leaflets displayed and distributed during these
exhibitions. Aspects on the subjects of healthcare, mother and child care, prevalence of diseases, sanitation and hygiene are shown with the help of slides and explained to the villagers in simple language.
