GOPALPUR / HARANGHERI . . .  This is a trio-complex comprising of 3 sets of villages - Gopalpur, Harangheri and Munshigheri.
in the district of North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) under Basirhat Sadar subdivision in Dhanyakuri and Haroa blocks respectively.  While Sikrakulingram is the host of the activities of the Sangha, situated in the Ramakrishna-Brahmananda Ashrama which is a branch centre of the Ramakrishna Mission, we have formed a separate society at Gopalpur called Vivekananda Sechhasevi Sangha dedicated for the development of the Harangheri and its adjoining villages which are about 10 kms from Sikrakulingram. It requires maximum amount of aids because of their extreme poverty and lack of minimum health care facilities.
 Gopalpur acts as a base camp for development of Harangheri complex and the Gopalpur organisation is the platfrom based upon which all the activities are carried out in the adjoining villages.
We have already set some remarkable examples in the field of Home Visit Programme. These are the boys and girls of Gopalpur who have shown excellent results by making continuous and silent home visits of each and every villages under Gopalpur centre.
 At present four self-help groups for women have been established. An adult education centre has been established and amongst elders studying at this centre, the awareness of savings have been culminated. Government has also come forward with help and with this they are begining to organize coconut plantations and fisheries.
The Sangha is trying to eradicate the disease of night-blindness prevalent in the area. The root cause lies in the widespread poverty of the people. Therefore, t he most urgent need of the hour is to continue the programmes smoothly which are aimed at making the people self reliant.
