This
is a silent way of self-educating our own workers and community
health guides. Such moral and value-orientation programmes are a
regular feature of our Headquarters as well as Rural Centres. Weekly
Study Circles are held in each centre, where teachings and literature
of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda
are read followed by devotional songs and discussions. Often these
study circles are conducted by the monks of the Ramakrishna Order
or nuns of Sarada Math.

Even though there may be schools but many children of the poor and backward communities cannot attend schools for various reasons. Most of them are school drop-outs. After reaching a certain age, they cannot re-enter formal schools. Through the Non-formal schools of the Sangha, they are given basic education and technical training to enable them to earn a living in future. 2 schools are run under the Somsar centre and another 3 under the Khanpur centre. In these schools, children not only are given formal teaching but they also get scope to learn and culminate talents in music, sports, 'bratachari' training. Every year, they get the necessary text books, copies, school unifors and winter garments. Besides, they are also given nutritious food.

This
is a prestigious educational programme of the Sangha continuing
since last ten years. There are four ECE centres, under the Khanpur
Center of the Sangha. One school has been set up under the Naora Centre in South 24 Parganas District.
Each
centre has on an average 40 students on roll, who are drawn mostly
from the backward community having no usual school going habits.
Children at these Centres are given substantial meals every day
to supplement this nutritional deficiencies. Besides studies, the
children also enjoy sports, music and games at the centres. Sanghathikas
and Sahayikas (organizers), on semi-voluntary basis, take care of
the children. These four ECE centres have become very popular amongst
the village level. More people from Calcutta are getting attracted
to this ECE programme.

A group
of students from Khanpur and surrounding villages assemble in the
evening at the Sangha's premises to receive free-coaching. Some
local teachers have come forward to coach these poor and needy students who require special coaching,
free of cost. This service has become highly helpful to the students
concerned. Similar coaching classes have been started in Somsar.
